SCL Position: Historian

Goals and excitements for the SCL: I hope to help the SCL network and gain as many members as possible to help us grow! I can't wait for NJCL Convention at UNLV!

Other super cool things about Alex: I've been tumbling (the gymnastics and the clumsy kind) since I was ten years old!

Meet OSCL Parliamentarian Bobby McDonald!

Name: Bobby McDonald

College and grad year: Either The University of Cincinnati or the University of Kentucky, graduating (hopefully!) in 2017.

SCL Position: Parliamentarian

Goals and excitements for the SCL: Making the Constitution and By-Laws more readily available to the SCL, publicizing the offices and elections in advance to state convention.

Favorite dinosaur: Apatosaurus (Littlefoot from The Land Before Time is one of them!)

Other super cool things about Bobby: I like Italian food and football, basketball, and soccer! My favorite teams are, respectively, the Bengals, the Kentucky Wildcats, and Bayern Munich!

Meet OSCL Secretary Mitra Jouhari!

Name: Mitra Jouhari

School: The Ohio State University, 2015

Position: Secretary

Goals/Excitements: I hope to make SCL even more fun than it already is, which is saying something. I want to amp up the presence on social media and hopefully keep a few people mildly entertained with some sick jokez (yeah, check out that 'z' in 'jokes.' Can you tell I'm super hip? Can you? Please say yes.). Also I'm hoping to keep you guys entertained with sick BEATZ because I like to think of the SCL as a launching point for my rap career. Okay, I'll stop now. Moral of the story: I'm really excited about being on the board.

Favorite Dinosaur: Apparently it's an Apatosaurus. I had to look up what dinosaur Littlefoot from the Land Before Time movies was. He's an Apatosaurus, according to the Wikipedia gods.

Other super cool things about Mitra: I'm super into acting! I do improv comedy, I sing at stuff (vague), do musicals (vague), write plays/sketch comedy, and I'm stage managing the national tour of a musical right now. I really want to be a writer/actor, hopefully for The Daily Show or for something like Parks and Rec. Hopefully I'll be on the 87th season of SNL one day. 

Meet OSCL Treasurer Michelle Martinez!

SCL Position: Treasurer, Head of the Unofficial Committee of Laughs and Giggles

Goals and excitements: To help the OSCL become an organized and solvent organization. Hoping to facilitate a Paypal service to streamline Convention registration, and get our assets in order. Currently I am continuing the work on bringing the binder to a state of nirvana with his dear ally Excel. Think of the binder as Caesar, and Excel as Labienus, his beloved lieutenant.
In general, avoiding all jankyness and ratchet situations.

Favorite 90's pop artist: Spice Girls and Destiny's Child.

Goals and excitements for the SCL:  I hope to expand membership as well as send quarterly updates about the goings on of the SCL and other information including registration info so that more people are informed and getting the most out of their SCL experience.  I am also super excited to work with Bobby on updating our constitution and by-laws as well as making those documents accessible to everyone. 

Cool Facts about Sam: I compulsively knit and i want to be an elementary school teacher when I grow up! Nothing else about me is cool.

Welcome to the official blog of the Ohio Senior Classical League. We are a bunch of Latin enthusiast college students who assist the Junior Classical League with our omnipresent, omnipotent, and omnisarcastic leadership. This blogs' main purpose will be to keep everyone in the SCL up to date on what we're working on year round, rather than just the 9 days we're all at conventions, as well as to publicize our organization. Hopefully that might even end up being mildly entertaining for you to read. But no promises. The 2013-2014 exec board is quite excited for this year, and we hope you are too!
